New Delhi River Band

The New Delhi River Band were formed in 1966. The group line-up was John Tomasi (vocals, harmonica), Peter Schultzbach (guitar) (note that in some sources the spelling of the surname is Saltzbach), David Nelson (guitar), Dave Torbert (bass) and Chris Herold (drums). The group were originally based in Palo Alto and for a period had a regular gig at The Barn in Scotts Valley. The group disbanded in late 1967 or early 1968.

Torbert and Herold went on to form the group Horses and David Nelson was a founder member of the New Riders of The Purple Sage. Torbert subsequently joined the New Riders and both Torbert and Herold were founder members of Kingfish
