Horses Discography

Horses were formed in San Francisco in 1969. Songwriting parnership, Tim Gilbert and John Carter, had written an album for the Los Angeles based group Rainy Daze but the group split up before the material was recorded. Carter and Gilbert, together with DJ/manager/producer David Diamond, relocated to San Francisco in 1969 and assembled a group to record the material. The original line-up was Dave Torbert (bass), Scott Quigley (guitar), Matt Kelly (guitar), Chris Herold (drums) and Rich Fifield (lead vocals). Don Johnson replaced Fifield during the recording sessons for the album. The group released the album in 1969 and split up at the start of 1970. Torbert, Kelly and Herold went on to form Kingfish.
