Alembic Recorders / Alembic Studios Discography

Alembic Recorders was founded in 1969 by Ron Wickersham and Susan Frates. They were originally based at the Grateful Dead office and rehearsal base in Novato. In 1970 Alembic moved to 320 Judah Street in San Francisco. Alembic Studios operated at 60 Brady Street in San Francisco between 1971 and the start of 1974. (Between 1969 and 1971 this studio space had been Pacific High Studios.) In 1974 Alembic moved out of the the Brady Street Studios to focus on their instrument and electronics manufacturing. The Brady Street studios then became His Master's Wheels. This page is an attempt to document all albums recorded or mixed at Alembic Studios or recorded live on location by Alembic Recorders. It is incomplete. Additions and corrections are welcome
