Day Of The Dead

MTV ran a Day Of The Dead in July 1987 showing Grateful Dead performance clips, interviews and other items through the day. There were also regular reports from the parking lot outside Giants Stadium, East Rutherford where the Dead were performing that evening.

This event has been credited with (or blamed for) popularising the Dead with a younger, more mainstream audience.
