Straight Life
Composer: Freddie Hubbard

Straight Life was played by the Keith & Donna Band, with Jerry Garcia sitting in, on August 20, 1975. The Keith and Donna Band probably played the piece on other occasions as well. Bill Kreutzmann was a member of the Keith and Donna Band at that time.

Straight Life was first recorded by Freddie Hubbard for the CTI label in November 1970.

Note that there are a number of other compositions called Straight Life or The Straight Life. The piece played by the Keith and Donna Band has sometimes been identified as the Art Pepper composition Straight Life.
