Pennies From Heaven
Composer: Johnny Burke / Arthur Johnston

Pennies From Heaven was performed a few times, as an instrumental, by the Garcia/Saunders band and Legion Of Mary in 1974 and 1975.

The song was written for the 1936 film Pennies From Heaven which starred Bing Crosby. The first released recording of the song, by Bing Crosby with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, topped the charts for 10 weeks in the same year. Many recordings followed in 1936 and 1937. The song quickly became a jazz standard and has subsequently been recorded many times.
