Leave Well Enough Alone
Composer: Wade Birchfield / Frank Wakefield / Carace Hutchins

Jerry Garcia sings on this track on the Pistol Packin' Mama album. The Good Old Boys, with Garcia sitting in, performed the song live in 1975.

Some confusion over the date of the original release. The Frank Wakefield/Buster Turner single appears to have been released in 1957. It also appears to have been collected on a compilation of tracks recorded between 1931 and 1953.

Writing credits on the original single are Wade Birchfield, Frank Wakefield and Carace Hutchins. On subsequent recordings only Frank Wakefield is credited. Wade Birchfield was the owner of Wayside Records, which released the single. Carace Hutchins was the banjo player in Wakefields' group at that time, the Chain Mountain Boys.
