Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You
Composer: Andy Razaf / Don Redman

Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You was recorded by the Garcia / Saunders group in January 1974. This version was released on the Keepers album. The song was also performed at least twice by the group in 1974. Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You was also played by Jerry Garcia when sitting in with Maria Muldaur during a show on October 12, 1974. (The images to the right are all the releases that feature Maria Muldaur singing on Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You.)

The song was written by Andy Razaf and Don Redman and first recorded by McKinney's Cotton Pickers in 1929. Don Redman was the groups musical director and saxophonist at the time of the recording. This original recording had the title Gee, Ain't I Good To You. Some other early recordings had the title Ain't I Good To You. The song became established as a jazz standard in the 1940s and from that time forward the title used on recordings is always Gee Baby, Ain't I Good To You.
