PhilipsThe Philips record label was started by the Dutch electronics company in the early 1950's. They released recordings by their own signings and also licensed recordings from American labels, particularly Columbia. The company became part of the Phonogram company in 1962 but the label retained the Philips name. Recordings released on the label during the sixties included Dusty Springfield, Peter Paul and Mary and The Walker Brothers. The label released primarily easy listening recordings during the seventies as other labels within the parent company concentrated on rock and pop. The label became a classical music specialist in the 1980s.The only Charlatans album was released on Philips. The third Linn County album was released on Philips. The six sixties and seventies Blue Cheer albums were released on the label.
