Sanpaku

Sanpaku were a Sacramento based group who got together in the Summer of 1968. The band members were Mark Pearson, Gary Larkey, Stan Bagdazian, Bob Powell, Kootch Trochim and Duane Temme. Rico Reyes joined the group in 1969. For a year and a half Sanpaku played the ballrooms of Northern California and occasionally further afield, supporting most of the major groups of the area. They folded at the end of 1969.

Gary Larkey sat in on flute with the Grateful Dead on at least one occasion in 1969 when the Dead and Sanpaku were on the same bill.
